Het belang van goede verlichting op kantoor - LED.nl

When optimizing workplaces, lighting is not always considered. And that is a real misconception, because poorly lit spaces can cause sore eyes, fatigue and other health complaints. Read our latest blog and discover how to create the best lighting conditions in your workplace.

Light and our biorhythm

Although we hardly think about it, light has a considerable influence on the biorhythm of humans. Our appetite, mood and alertness are largely related to light. It will therefore come as no surprise that our work performance can also be influenced by lighting. Too much light causes burning eyes and headaches, too little light causes concentration problems and fatigue.

So what are the perfect lighting conditions?

How much light is perfect for the work you do, of course, varies per profession. For example, a photographer needs different light than someone who does the bookkeeping on the computer. What applies to everyone, however, is that a combination of artificial light and natural daylight works best. If you have few windows around you, this will have to be compensated with sufficient artificial lighting.

The light color

Not only the amount, but also the color of the light plays an important role. The warmer the light, the faster you will get sleepy. For high productivity in the office, it is best to choose a light color of 4000K or more. Cool white light ensures alert and focused staff.

Avoid flashing light

Flashing light causes eye fatigue. Did you know that flashing light is not always visible to the naked eye? Many old-fashioned light sources flash so quickly that you actually don't see it, but it does have an effect on your concentration. Therefore, always choose modern LED lighting.

Which LED lighting is most suitable?

In the office, a good mix of LED lighting and daylight is the best choice. In the area of artificial light, good basic lighting, such as ceiling lights , LED TL lighting or LED panels is indispensable.

As for the amount of daylight, you need to make sure it is not too overwhelming, because then you will quickly start to squint. It is also important that the daylight does not shine directly on your screen.
